The Honorary Captains' Program is the very foundation of Athletes Helping Athletes.

AHA was founded in the fall of 2002 with the Council Rock North football team. Now, more than 20 years later, it is still our most cherished activity.

The program provides awareness and community support by having special needs athletes serving as Honorary Captains for our participating teams. As an Honorary Captain, each child is treated as a special member of the team, introduced to the crowd, and participates in the coin toss or pregame activities. Our special needs athletes love being a part of the program PLUS, the bonds that are formed between the athletes are truly something to witness.
